The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian culture of the Embassy of India in Cairo organizes “MACIC Roundtable” a monthly seminar series involving youth, academicians, culture lovers, civil society on the issue of mutual interest to India and Egypt.
The seventh edition of the monthly series of MACIC Roundtable will be a seminar on “Skill Development: Opportunities and Challenges” at 3 pm on January 19, 2017, held in MACIC. The issue gains utmost significance as the technological advancement and increased use of latest technologies at work places have increased the importance of skilled work force to meet the demand of industrial sector and also to provide meaningful employment to large number of young work-force in both the countries. The discussion will be focusing on evaluating the present condition in terms of the opportunities we get from the young population and the challenges we have to make this huge pool of your work-force skilled as per the demand of the industries and technological advancements. We shall also be exploring the areas of mutual cooperation for both the countries to get the demographic dividend because both the countries have huge young population and are undergoing rapid developmental changes which demand skilled work-force.
Eminent speakers at the event will elaborate on the theme followed by an interactive session with the audience. The seventh seminar in MACIC Roundtable will feature Ms. Padma Karri, Third Secretary (Media) from Embassy of India Cairo; Eng. Hisham EL-Gazzar, Board Member of Federation of Egyptian Industries, and Chairman of Export Council of Handicrafts; Mr. Michael Ayoub Lokka from the NGO, “I The Egyptian”; Engineer Amr Toliba, Head of Car Maintenance Deptt. from “Vocational Training Centre in Shoubra El Kheima” and Mr. Magdy Garas, co-director of “Caritas Egypt”.
