Vancouver: Highly acclaimed Indo-Canadian chef Vikram Vij and his wife Meeru Dhalwala who own Canada’s best known Indian restaurants Vij’s Indian and Vij’s Rangoli here have been invited by Visa for their 2017 Winter/Spring country-wide series.

The Visa Infinite Series commences January 28 and goes on for six months with Vikram Vij's demonstration billed for February 1 in a total of 16 different demonstrations by Canadian chefs from different cuisines.

Vikram Vij and Meeru Dhalwala “are two of Vancouver’s greatest hosts. Their restaurants – Vij’s Rangoli and My Shanti – are not only temples to the fragrantly spiced flavors of their Indian homeland, they hold some of the best parties in town.”

“So this chef experience will sure to be both entertaining and educational.”

“Our Stories, Spices and Cherished recipes” will feature 80 original and inspiring recipes such as Cardamom Cream Chicken and Lamb Popsicles with Garlic and Ricotta-Fenugreek Topping, carefully crafted for both new and experienced home cooks,” say Vij and Dhalwala.

Together they have recently released their third cook book titled ‘Vij’s Indian.” Their first book “Vij’s Elegant and Inspired Indian Cuisine” was released in 2007 and was recognized as the Cookbook of the Year and received the Cordon d’Or Gold Ribbon for International Cookbook.

The New York Times has called Vij’s Indian as “easily among the finest Indian restaurants in the world.”

Both Vij and Dhalwala have honorary doctorates from the University of British Columbia.
