If you are looking for a road less travelled but not ready to compromise on comfort and fun factors, go for Madhya Pradesh’s little known destination Hanuwantiya, especially while the Jal Mahotsav is on.
Information: The second edition of Jal Mahotsav will be held from Dec 15, 2016 to Jan 15, 2017. You can visit on your own or buy a package tour from MP Tourism. The packages, of 1 Night/2Days and 2Nights/3Days duration, starting from Rs 6100 and Rs 11,000 for non-peak time, include stay, meals, pick-up from and drop to the nearest railway station (Khandwa, Indore) and airport (Indore), sightseeing and some of the activities.
The nearest railway station for Hanuwantiya is Khandwa, which is connected to Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin, Kolkata, Indore, Bhopal, Allahabad and other destinations. Khandwa is about 50km by road from Hanuwantiya. The nearest airport is Indore, about 160km away by road. One can also combine a trip to Hanuwantiya while visiting Omkareshwar (about 100km away).
Best time to visit is November to February.
